OUR YOUNG KIDS JUST CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF FOOTBALL !

It was excitement plus at Urunga Football Club on Saturday 21 Jun when the club hosted a very successful mini gala day for young soccer players from Dorrigo, Bellingen, Urunga, Nambucca Heads and Macksville. The wonderful weekend weather provided perfect conditions for the 28 teams made up of 140 children, aged 6 and 7, to develop their football skills, and have lots of fun. This year has seen the introduction of Small-Sided Games (SSG) within the North Coast area. This form of game is designed to encourage skills development by giving children more contact with the ball and more actual experience of the play. Of course, this adds to the kids' enjoyment of the game.  SSG relies on the support of parents as coaches, team leaders and for organising to set up the fields, but with lots of smiles all round, it is well worth it. The club expresses their thanks to all the children and parents who made the effort to take part in this Gala day.
