Our aim is to keep the season fees affordable to all. We do this by profits from our canteen, grant applications and sponsorship of the teams. The club committee, coaches, managers and junior canteen volunteer their time.
What are the Referee Fees?
The following table shows some of the Referee fees charged for 2008. A ground/referee is generally collected by the team manager from each player at a game to contribute towards the cost. Referees are paid directly by the Referee Standing Committee and the club is sent regular invoices for games held at the home grounds.

How does Urunga Football fit into the big picture?
Urunga Football is one of about 23 clubs that make up the North Coast Football Zone. There are 7 zones within the Northern NSW Soccer structure plus a series of Standing Committees which set the guidelines on Referees, State League, First Division & Futsal for the region. They currently have 10 full time staff, located in Newcastle. In turn, as a member of Football Federation Australia (FFA), they are guided by standards generated by FIFA, the world governing body. There are currently 79 full time employees in FFA and only the Socceroos currently return a profit. FFA is therefore funded by government, sponsorship and members. Your registration fees support these organisations.
My child has talent - what opportunities are there?
Development Programs Boys 11-12 age groups Girls 11- 13 age groups
Each month inter-zone games are arranged at various venues throughout the state
Northern NSW assists in the coordination of the development progress by appointing individual coaches to oversee each age group and work with development coaches.
State, Youth-League Program Boys 13-16 age groups Girls 15-18 age groups
2006 saw the introduction of the State Youth League competition for both males and females from all Northern NSW Zones and includes invitational teams from Central Coast.
State Teams Each year both boys and girls are selected from throughout Northern NSW to represent the Federation at the National Championships and Friendly games,
Teams selected are Female Under 14, 16, 18yr and senior women and Male Under 14, 15 and 17yr age groups.
Players are then identified for possible selection into the Australian Joeys/Young Matildas or Australian Institute of Sport
NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) Northern NSW in partnership with Soccer NSW, Football Federation Australia and the NSW Government conduct an elite player development program for both male (16-17 year old) and female (open) under the banner of NSWIS. Northern players are part of the regional program with Newcastle as the major training base. Satellite bases cater for regional areas of Northern NSW.
Soccer Coaching Courses The Football Department conducts regular coaching courses throughout the seven zones of Northern NSW.These include: •Introduction to coaching •Junior Licence •Youth Licence •Senior Licence •State Licence •Youth Goalkeeping Licence •Senior Goalkeeping Licence
FFA Community Football Program Northern NSW instructors also conduct coaching seminars for accredited instructors and work with local coaches at club training sessions. Information on the above is available through the Northern NSW Soccer's web site or your local Zone. Northern NSW in conjunction with the F.F.A provides community football programs such as "Top Shots" and "Football Anytime". These programs are available on a regular basis and are presented by trained personnel within Northern NSW.
Armidale Camp Conducted at the University of New England (Armidale) in January each year, the camp caters for male and female players between the ages of 11-18yrs and provides intensive coaching and specialised skill sessions. Participants receive individual reports together with two shirts & shorts, bag, cap, water bottle and soccer ball.
School Holiday Clinics Northern NSW, in conjunction with its seven zones, is currently developing a program to provide school holiday clinics for children aged between 6-15yrs.
Presented by accredited coaches the clinics with an emphasis on fun will incorporate basic skills, drills and small sided games.
Participants will also receive soccer accessories such as a shirt, ball, cap and DVD. Your local zone will provide further information in due course.
It’s Raining - Is Football on?
For competition games the NCF website is updated regularly with news on ground closures. The Urunga grounds are closed on advice from our Senior & Junior Groundsperson and will be advised to all relevant coaches and, if possible, on this web site. Generally, if it is not raining hard, the Urunga grounds will be open as they have a sand base and quickly absorb any excess water.
